Jonathan White Sings For Annual Ohio Legislative Prayer Servicež

Dear Friends,

The following is an invitation to Ohio State Legislators for the Annual Prayer Service and YOU are invited as well. If you live in Ohio and would like to attend this service, it is a wonderful opportunity to pray for this States leaders. All are invited to join in. I will be singing I Bowed On My Knees And Cried Holy with the Choir from Chapel Hill church. I count this as a HUGE honor to be asked to sing for this service. This will be a wonderful time of prayer for our States leaders and we need to let them know that we are covering them in prayer each day. If you would like to join us, please read the following invitation to the Legislators and if you need to, please feel free to contact the Whisners regarding this. We would like to have as many Pastors and Lay people as possible to show up and show their support for our Leaders. God Bless!!

Annual Legislative Prayer Service Wednesday, may 21, 7:30 AM
Statehouse Atrium

Dear Senator,

I am happy to invite you to the Annual Legislative Prayer Service. Pastors from all over Ohio will again make their way to the Statehouse to pray for and with their lawmakers. Groups from Toledo, Cleveland, Cincinnati and all parts in between will be in attendance. This year's service will be held in the Statehouse Atrium at 7:30 AM on Wednesday, May 21, 2008. We will again be honored with the presence of Senate President Harris who will welcome the pastors to the Statehouse. Senator Harris has been a faithful participant in this event, extending all the way back to his days in the House. I have often heard him urge pastors to pray for him in his service as a legislator. I am sure he senses a great need for prayer as he carries the load of Senate President. From the House side, Representatives Michael DeBose, and Tom Collier will be participating in the program. These men openly express their faith and their need for divine assistance in their responsibilities as lawmakers. Pastor Levi Whisner is once again planning to be with us to close the meeting in prayer. This year marks the 30th Anniversary of Pastor Levi's courageous stand for religious liberty. The case, Whisner vs. Ohio, won in the Ohio Supreme Court, has been used as a precedent all over our nation and in countries around the world. Pastor Whisner is now in his eighties and his participation will be dependent on his health on that day. The Chapel Hill Choir from Mount Vernon will be filling the Atrium with powerfully inspiring music. Joining the choir will be guest soloist, Jonathan White. Jonathan's beautiful tenor voice has been featured on some of our nation's most respected stages. This will be an encouraging time of joining together in prayer for God's blessing on our state generally and for our General Assembly specifically. The Prayer Service will begin promptly at 7:30AM and end promptly at 8:30 AM. We always make time for the legislators to walk across the platform and introduce themselves to the pastors. This takes place at 8:20 AM. We try to reserve an adequate number of chairs for all legislators, their spouses and staff that wish to attend.
